Background

Hey! Say! JUMP was formed based on the temporary Juniors unit Hey! Say! 7, whose original members were Chinen, Nakajima, Yamada, Arioka and Takaki. Along with five other juniors, Morimoto, Okamoto, Yaotome, Inoo and Yabu, the band released their debut single in November 2007, "Ultra Music Power", which was the song for Japan's Volleyball World Cup Relay 2007.

Formed in September 2007, Hey! Say! JUMP is a Johnny's Entertainment band with ten young and talented members, all born during the Heisei era (1988-today). JUMP is an acronym for Johnny's Ultra Music Power.

Hey! Say! JUMP has two divisions: Hey! Say! 7, that consists of the five youngest members, and Hey! Say! BEST, that consists of the five oldest ones.
