Story
The story starts about a year where Hana Yori Dango left. Tsukasa has been some time in New York and Tsukushi decides to go look for him, since he hasn't been been answering her calls and completely lost contact with her. To her disappointment, when she finally finds him, she realizes that he has changed very much.
Short after that, back in Japan, Tsukushi gets an invitation to Tsukasa's birthday, sent by Tsukasa's mother. As a surprise for everyone, Tsukasa's engagement with Shigeru Ogawara, the only daughter of one of the world's biggest oil companies, is announced in that party. Tsukushi is deeply in love with Tsukasa and is very hurt by the engagement announcement, but when she meets Shigeru and realizes that she is a nice girl, she feels confused and does not know what to do...
On the other side, Rui still has feelings for Tsukushi and cannot just stand there watching how Domyouji hurts her. Soujiroh is having a "confused" time remembering a past love, and Yuki is trying hard to understand Soujiroh, so that she may have a chance with him...
Characters
Tsukushi Makino (Mao Inoue)
Tsukushi is a strong, independent, but poor girl that attends Eitoku - a high class school. She is famous at her school for being Tsukasa Domyouji's girlfriend, though she is not sure of that anymore since he lost contact with her since he left to New York. She is still close to F4, though.
Tsukasa Domyouji (Jun Matsumoto)
Tsukasa is not only the head of F4, but also the son and heir of an important, international company. He is living in New York, getting prepared to inherit the company, but his mother is putting too much pressure on him, in a way that he is being "brainwashed". He is engaged to the daughter of a rich, important family, and trying to carry on with his responsabilities, he accepts.
Rui Hanazawa (Shun Oguri)
Rui is a quiet and calm man, whose life is the most misterious one from the F4 members. He is calm and gentle and has feelings for Makino. Now that Domyouji isn't "interested" in being with Makino, Rui decides to take her back to him.
Soujiroh Nishikado (Shota Matsuda)
Soujiroh is the heir of a large, traditional Tea family. He is the playboy in F4, though in this season, he is going through a hard time, trying to figure out his feelings.
Akira Mimasaka (Tsuyoshi Abe)
Akira's family are kings of the "underworld", and he's got the best connections in F4 (they even reach to NY!). Akira likes to date older women, and seems to have some interest in Makino's boss.
Yuki Matsuoka (Aki Nishihara)
Yuki is Tsukushi's best friend. She likes Soujiroh and even enters tea classes to know more about his interests.
Shigeru Ogawara (Natsuki Kato)
Shigeru, eventhough she is the only-daughter of an important oil company, she is a hyperactive and noisy girl. She starts to fall for Domyouji short after they're engaged and is rather looking forward to marrying him. At the same time, she meets Makino and considers her a friend, without knowing that Makino actually wants to win Domyouji back.
Haruo Makino (Susumu Kobayashi)
He is Tsukushi's father, and is very proud of having her studying in Eitoku. They have economic problems though, so, he has to leave to the countryside, to find a new work, and leaves his daughter and son by themselves.
Chieko Makino (Mako Ishino)
She is Tsukushi's father and is also proud of her daughter going to Eitoku. She leaves with her husband to the countryside to work, too.
Susumu Makino (Satoshi Tomiura)
Susumu, Tsukushi's younger brother, gets more importance in this season, showing that he likes a girl at the new high school he is going to enter. Susumu lives now only with Makino, since their parents left to work far from the city.
Kaede Domyouji (Mariko Kaga)
She is Tsukasa's mother and the "witch" of the drama. She wants her son to marry Shigeru, since the company is having financial problems and the marriage would be for the company's advantage. She makes Makino's life impossible, even inviting her to the birthday party where she arranged that Domyouji's engagement is announced.
Tsubaki Domyouji (Nanako Matsushima)
She is Tsukasa's older sister. She is the one who, since the first episode, encourages Makino to keep fighting for Domyouji. She cares a lot for her brother and doesn't want him to end up like her - in an arranged marriage with no real happiness, so, she wants Makino to be with him, since she knows that deep inside, he does love her.
